Here we go, the first colored version! I went quite wild with all the shiny sparkly colors and I personally like the result. Maybe I'll re-color it in the future, though, who knows...

So these are still Mad Hatter, Hare and Dormouse. Hopefully now when it is colored it is more clear that it is Hare, not the Rabbit. My fault for drawing the Hare so Rabbit-like blab blab...oh, Lewis Carroll and Alice in Wonderland if you're confused.

edit: wow, it took less than an hour for DA print staff to approve this! Great! Heart for the staff!

p.s. Photobreed, my best ally

i don't know the story behind this :) (Smile) but i think this looks still very cool. the lines are messy - which i happen to like. the colors are little biased, you should have used some less orange ones too ;) (Wink) but, everything looks great, and i like this image

I think it turned out very well. The colours are subdued and subtle with more of a neutral scheme, browned and earthy tones came out wonderful. The original line work even takes it's own tone of brown, which is another nice colouring touch. The composition is loose, and free, very subtle and yet detailed. The borders are somewhat sketchy, and ragged, which creates a certain tension in the narrative implied by the Alice allusion. The floating cups, tea, and swirls all create a certain movement which is spastic and very suited to the subject. Excellent work again, +favs
